Data loggers and temperature sensors for logistics and the transport of temperature-sensitive goods in the food and healthcare industries.

Continuous temperature monitoring and documentation are crucial throughout the cold chain. In the UK, chilled foods, pharmaceuticals and vaccines must be stored within specific temperature limits — from production and transportation to distribution.

Data loggers are one of the primary tools used in logistics. They record temperatures at set intervals, providing robust digital evidence that goods have been consistently maintained within compliant temperature ranges.

ETI’s range of robust and accurate cold chain devices includes data loggers, infrared thermometers, and between-pack probes for measuring deliveries at checkpoints.

TempTag® Micro Max/Min Thermometer - White

Why cold chain monitoring matters

Failures can spoil products

Temperature fluctuations during storage or transport can damage temperature-sensitive goods.

Maintains compliance

Routine checks and records support cold chain, HACCP and GDP requirements throughout the supply chain.

Real-time visibility reduces risk

Continuous monitoring helps teams identify issues quickly and take corrective action before products are lost.

Preserves valuable stock

Accurate, calibrated thermometers and data loggers help ensure dependable temperature control from dispatch to delivery.

Protects brand reputation

Consistent temperature control helps businesses reduce waste, avoid recalls and maintain customer trust.

ThermaData Hub is a free, locally-stored software solution with advanced reporting features.

ETI Cloud is a cloud-based solution for monitoring your temperatures anytime, anywhere.

Do ETI’s data loggers come with a calibration certificate?

Yes, many of ETI’s data loggers come with a traceable calibration certificate. Models supplied without a certificate can be purchased with a UKAS calibration certificate for an additional fee.

What is the difference between WiFi and USB data loggers?

WiFi loggers provide live remote monitoring and instant alerts, while USB loggers store data locally for later download and reporting. The choice depends on whether you need real-time visibility or endpoint verification.

Which is the best transport data logger?

The best transport data loggers are the ETI ThermaData Lite or ThermaPod USB loggers. Both loggers automatically generate rapid PDF reports when plugged into a computer for quick, software-free reporting.

The ThermaData Lite reads from -40 to 85 °C, ideal for fresh or frozen goods. It has an accuracy of ±0.5 °C and stores up to 16,000 readings. The logger’s LED will flash if custom limits are exceeded.

The ThermaPod reads from -20 to 85 °C, ideal for a range of applications, and has an accuracy of ±0.5 °C. The memory stores up to 7,500 readings, and the casing is splashproof to IP65.

Which temperature monitors are best for healthcare?

The best thermometers for storing medical products are the ETI ThermaGuard Pharm and ThermaData WiFi Pharm.

The ThermaGuard Pharm is a high-accuracy fridge thermometer that meets the European Standard EN 13485. It features glycol-encased probes that mimic pharmaceutical temperatures for greater accuracy — essential for temperature-critical medical products.

The ThermaData WiFi Pharm is a wireless data logger designed for medicines and vaccines. It records readings at timed intervals. Results can be viewed off-site in real-time, with high/low push notifications to your device. Compatible with free ThermaData Hub software.

How do I measure temperatures at delivery and handover points?

Infrared thermometers and specialised between-pack probes allow non-destructive temperature checks of deliveries.

Infrared thermometers are ideal for fast, non-contact surface temperature checks on pallets, boxes and packaged goods during loading and delivery.

Between-pack probes can be inserted between boxes or packs to measure the temperature closer to the product core without damaging packaging.
