What 0.4 seconds really looks like
Thermapen NANO delivers a final temperature in just 0.4 seconds - more than twice as fast as Thermapen ONE. Faster readings mean quicker checks, less time over the heat and faster decisions when every second counts.
Patent-pending ThermaBoost® Technology detects a major temperature change and automatically increases the sampling rate from 5 to 20 times per second. Once the reading stabilises, it returns to 5 times per second to help preserve battery life.

What’s the difference between the Thermapen NANO and Thermapen Classic?
Thermapen NANO reads in just 0.4 seconds with an accuracy of ±0.3 °C. It also features a rotating backlit display, auto sleep/wake, IP67 waterproofing, a built-in magnet and a 5-year guarantee.
Thermapen Classic reads in around 3 seconds with an accuracy of ±0.4 °C. It is splashproof to IP65 and comes with a 2-year guarantee.
How does the Thermapen NANO read so fast?
Thermapen NANO uses patent-pending ThermaBoost® Technology. When the probe detects a significant temperature change, it increases its sampling rate from 5 to 20 times per second to reach the final temperature faster.
For example, if your NANO is reading room temperature at 20 °C and you probe a steak cooking at 55 °C, ThermaBoost detects the change and increases the sampling rate to reach the final temperature in just 0.4 seconds. As the temperature stabilises, it slows the sampling rate back down to conserve battery life.
Why do I need a fast thermometer?
When temperature is critical, every second counts. Faster readings mean you can quickly check your food and make a decision without waiting over the heat.
It’s particularly useful when cooking lots of food at once. If you have a BBQ full of burgers, chicken pieces and sausages, you can quickly check each one to make sure everything has reached the right temperature without slowing down service or leaving food over the heat for longer than necessary.
What can I use a Thermapen NANO for?
Thermapen NANO measures temperatures from -49.9 to 299.9 °C, making it ideal for everything from meat and BBQ to baking, confectionery and deep frying.
Use it for steaks, roast meats, chicken, burgers, bread, cakes, jam, caramel, frying oil and more.

Yes. Thermapen NANO is designed, engineered and made in Britain, building on over 40 years of expertise in temperature measurement.
How do I clean the Thermapen NANO?
Clean the probe with warm, soapy water after each use and sanitise with a food-safe probe wipe or sanitiser. NANO is waterproof to IP67, so it can be rinsed under running water, but it should not be put in a dishwasher or left to soak.
