Multi-Sensor Compatibility

This catering thermometer can be used with any of our thermistor or type T thermocouple probes that feature a Lumberg connector, enabling you to use the same instrument for multiple applications.

The thermistor sensor gives greater accuracy for food processing, whilst the type T thermocouple sensor extends the measurement range and provides a faster response.

Frequently Asked Questions

What probes work with the Therma 22 Blue Thermometer?

This model is a highly versatile dual-sensor thermometer, which means it accepts both Type T thermocouple and thermistor probes that feature a Lumberg connector. This allows you to use the same instrument for multiple different tasks simply by changing the attachment. Probes are sold separately so you only pay for the specific styles you need for your business.

Does the Therma 22 Blue connect to my smartphone or tablet?

Yes, the Therma 22 Blue uses Bluetooth BLE 5.0 technology to send temperature readings straight to your smart device. It pairs with our free ThermaData Hubsofteare, helping you to keep digital, paperless temperature records and complete your daily checklists quickly. It can also be integrated into existing systems using our free SDK (available on request).

Do I have to pay for the software?

No, there are no subscription fees. Our ThermaData Hub software is free to use. If you want to link the thermometer directly into your own existing business systems, we also provide a free Software Development Kit (SDK) and ongoing technical support.

Can I check the accuracy of the Therma 22 Blue myself over time?

Yes. One feature of the Therma 22 Blue is its compatibility with Thermistor Test Caps that are sold separately. These caps allow you to instantly verify the accuracy of your instrument at any time, giving you total peace of mind during HACCP checks.

What jobs and applications is the Therma 22 Blue used for?

Because the Therma 22 Blue accepts two different probe types, it is adaptable to multiple applications. It is most widely used in commercial catering, restaurants, and food manufacturing for strict HACCP compliance. Depending on the probe you choose to attach, you can use it to check the core temperature of cooking meats, measure between boxes of frozen food, or test the surface temperature of grills.

What is the difference between the Therma 20 Blue and the Therma 22 Blue?

The main difference between the two models is the type of probes they can connect to:

  • The Therma 20 Blue accepts only thermistor probes.
  • The Therma 22 Blue is a dual-sensor model, meaning it accepts both thermistor probes and Type T thermocouple probes.

If your business only needs to use thermistor probes, the Therma 20 Blue is the perfect, cost-effective choice. If you need the flexibility to use both probe types on the same device, the Therma 22 Blue is the better option.
