The RayTemp 8 Infrared Thermometer is compact, gun-shaped, lightweight and easy to use. Simply aim, then pull the trigger to display the temperature of the item being measured. The LCD display gives a digital read-out of temperature over the range of -60 to 500 °C.

This infra-red thermometer has a clear, easy to read, LCD display with low battery indication and incorporates an auto power off facility that turns the instrument off after 60 seconds, maximising battery life. The RayTemp 8 also incorporates a circular laser, which allows you to precisely target the diameter of the area to be measured. As you move closer or further from the target the laser circle changes diameter.

The RayTemp 8's three-button keypad allows the user to select °C/°F and max/min. Additionally, the difference between the maximum and minimum temperature and the average temperature can be displayed.

Two instruments in one

The RayTemp 8 infrared thermometer incorporates a miniature thermocouple type K probe socket (probe not supplied) that enables a wide range of type K thermocouple probes to be used for a variety of temperature measurement applications, including air, liquid and surface temperatures. 

Available as a complete kit
The RayTemp 8 together with a penetration probe is available as a kit. Each infrared thermometer kit is supplied in a useful ABS carrying case with a tub of 70 anti-bacterial Probe-Wipes. To view kit - click here.

I've had a combined infrared/thermocouple

I've had a combined infrared/thermocouple thermometer for years but having left it on a site somewhere I looked for a replacement. This one fits the bill, small enough to carry in my briefcase and having tested it in a calibration pot against a larger Fluke unit and various surface readings as well, I believe it to be very accurate. I also like the multiple dot lasers which make clear the size of the measuring zone at any distance. I'm a mechanical building services consultant and will find this instrument very useful.

Good infra-red thermometers

I bought these with the intention of being able to use both the probe and the infra-red. It's an accurate thermometer which suits my purpose exactly. I do have a couple of niggles: the k socket could be tighter and the emissivity setting sometimes go back to the default setting.
