More convenient than the larger probe(s).
Eventually, after six years of frequent use, the reading on my ChefAlarm was nonsense. Was it the ChefAlarm, the batteries or the probe? A bit of simple investigation and the recollection that I’d dropped the probe into the washing-up water and pinched the cable in an oven door hinge, suggested the probe.
It had had a tough life, travelled the world (I never trust ovens but do trust my ChefAlarm) and I felt I’d had my money’s worth. I ordered a new elbowed one, plus the straight one as a back up and to give more versatility. Perfection! Both probes read the same in a variety of situations; order is restored.
Functional, well designed and does the job either in the oven or checking cooked items.
Exactly what it said
We love the thermometer. It would get 5 stars except - the 90 degree probe doesn’t fit into the case provided without making a sharp bend where the wire meets the probe. This will prematurely shorten the life of the probe.
