The Thermapen Air industrial thermometer with fast response air probe is an invaluable tool in establishing the correct air temperature quickly in HVAC, laboratory applications and other temperature-sensitive working areas.

The Thermapen Air thermometer incorporates a large digital display with a precise read-out over the range of -49.9 to 299.9 °C with a 0.1 °C resolution. The resolution can be switched to 1 °C, if required, via a switch in the battery compartment. The thermometer will power off automatically after ten minutes, maximising battery life. This feature can be disabled if not required. Both low battery (icon) and open circuit indication are also displayed, when applicable. Each Thermapen is powered by two lithium coin cell batteries with a minimum life expectancy of 1500 hours.

The thermometer probe conveniently folds back through 180 degrees into the side of the instrument when not in use. The casing is washable and includes Biomaster product protection that reduces bacteria growth, and the ergonomic rubber seal minimises the risk of the ingress of water, dust or food.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Thermapen® Air Probe used for?

The Thermapen® Air Probe is a professional air temperature thermometer designed for fast temperature measurements in HVAC, laboratories and other temperature-sensitive working environments. Its fast-response probe makes it ideal for checking ambient air temperatures quickly and accurately.

Is the Thermapen® Air Probe suitable for HVAC applications?

Yes. The Thermapen® Air Probe is specifically designed for HVAC temperature measurement. Its fast-response probe can be used to check air temperatures when testing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

What is the difference between an air probe and a penetration probe?

An air probe is designed to measure the temperature of the surrounding air, while a penetration probe is designed to be inserted into food, liquids or other materials to measure internal temperature. The Thermapen® Air Probe should be chosen when air temperature rather than internal or surface temperature needs to be measured.

What temperature range does the Thermapen® Air Probe measure?

The Thermapen® Air Probe measures temperatures from -49.9 to 299.9 °C, with a selectable resolution of either 0.1 °C or 1 °C. This wide measurement range makes it suitable for a variety of professional air temperature monitoring applications.

How accurate is the Thermapen® Air Probe?

The Thermapen® Air Probe has an accuracy of ±0.4 °C between -49.9 and 149.9 °C, and ±1% outside this range, providing reliable measurements for professional air temperature monitoring.

What type of temperature sensor does the Thermapen® Air Probe use?

The Thermapen® Air Probe uses a K-type thermocouple sensor with a 95 mm stainless steel air probe. The probe is designed for fast response when measuring air temperature and folds safely back into the instrument when not in use.

Does the Thermapen® Air Probe come with a calibration certificate?

Yes. Every Thermapen® Air Probe is supplied with a free traceable calibration certificate. For businesses requiring independently accredited calibration, optional UKAS three-point and five-point calibration certificates are also available.

Where is the Thermapen® Air Probe manufactured?

The Thermapen® Air Probe is designed and manufactured in Britain by ETI in Worthing, West Sussex. Each instrument is manufactured and tested to meet its specified performance and accuracy requirements.
