Since COVID-19 restrictions have been enforced, it’s become difficult to carry out the usual inductions for new employees which included a tour of each site and general introductions. As part of our staff newsletters and for the benefit of new employees, we thought it might be nice to introduce a department each month together with a brief overview of the role of each employee. This month we will focus on the IT Department who are based on the ground floor of Easting Close:
Nick Dumbleton (IT Manager)I am responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading computer related activities within the company. As part of my role, I manage tasks relating to any hardware and software needs and oversee the running and maintenance of the overall network system that ETI uses. The NetSuite upgrade which went live in February this year is working very well and I am confident it will provide a future proof IT platform for the business. NetSuite has proved to be a very capable and robust cloud based system offering a fully integrated solution for the entire company and over time, will help us to be more competitive, more agile and will allow us to plan for the future with greater precision and flexibility.
Glen Greeney (IT Assistant)As the company’s IT Assistant my duties include configuring hardware and software, setting up and repairing peripherals such as PC’s, laptops, phones and printers. I am also partly responsible for ensuring that the company's computer network is functioning properly and up-to-date. Other daily tasks involve providing daily support to network users, web traffic monitoring, e-mail monitoring, anti-virus monitoring and CCTV monitoring to name a few.
