Championship BBQ is already a major phenomenon in the USA and it’s something that’s spreading to the UK. So when we were approached by Steve Heyes of the Royal Q Pit Crew from Reading, regarding sponsorship for them and the British BBQ Society, we were only too happy to help out.

On hearing that they were entering the prestigious 31st American Royal BBQ competition in Kansas City, MO - considered to be the 'Superbowl' of barbecue cooking we sent them some Thermapens (in red, white and blue, of course!) to help them wave the Flag at the event.

Steve is a big fan of the Thermapen, and considers it a 'must have' thinks it helped him win the recent British BBQ Society Ready Steady Q final! "I recently won the British BBQ Society Ready Steady Q final, where I had to cook 2 quails in the final round, having never cooked quail before it was initially a little unnerving. However a quick check of my notebook to tell me the desired internal temperature for cooked quail and by using my Thermapen, it was easy to cook my quails to perfection. Walking away with a £1000 cash prize feels great and I couldn’t have done it without my Thermapen."
